Sharon Harrison is a native of Albuquerque, NM. She received her Bachelor of Science with Area of Math in 1972 and Master of Education with Area of Science in 1976 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.  After moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1986, Sharon taught 7th and 8th grade science in Paradise Valley Unified School District for 25 years, as well as several summers teaching science classes at Paradise Valley Community College. Sharon was honored as the state PTA Arizona Educator of the Year in 2009 and Vista Verde Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2010.  During her teaching career, she participated on seven submarine “underways”, which included cruises aboard the USS PHOENIX, USS HOUSTON, USS HELENA, and USS ALASKA. On one trip with the USS Phoenix, she was given the helm and conducted an actual dive.  Sharon has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi, an International Sorority since 1972, and has served as the President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Parliamentarian of Phoenix City Council, Beta Sigma Phi. For the past seven years, Sharon has been the President of the Water Association in northern New Mexico.  She has also served for the past three years as the HOA Treasurer of Horizons at Scarlet Canyon.  Sharon is currently a Director/Treasurer in the USS Phoenix (SSN 702) Cold War Monument Foundation.
